What Is e-NAM?
Normally, a farmer sells produce in the local mandi to whichever traders are present that day, and does not always see how the price was decided. e-NAM changes the way the sale is recorded and priced: the lot is entered on the platform, its quality is assessed, and buyers bid online, so the price is set by demand and supply that is visible on the system rather than only by the traders at one mandi. The actual produce still moves physically through the market — it is the registration, weighment records, bidding and payment that happen online.
According to a Government reply published by the Press Information Bureau, as of 30 June 2025 there were 1,522 mandis onboarded on e-NAM, with about 1.79 crore farmers, 2.68 lakh traders, 1.16 lakh commission agents and 4,518 FPOs registered on the platform.

How to Register and Sell
Step 1: Register
- Go to the official portal, enam.gov.in, and open the Registration option.
- Choose your registration level (state or APMC) and your registration category — farmer/seller for individual farmers.
- Fill in your personal, contact and bank details, and upload your documents.
- Complete the confirmation step sent to your registered email address.

Step 2: Sell at a connected mandi
- Bring your produce to an e-NAM-connected mandi.
- At the entry gate, your lot details are recorded and the produce is weighed.

- After the buyer accepts delivery and the APMC approves it, payment is sent to your registered bank account.
